Let the customers know the truth..

Every time I get a customer complaint regarding lack of staffing or poor customer service, I inform the customer (in a very polite and professional way), that our new CEO and his ex Depot team have cut staffing levels/payroll to an all time low. If they continue to complain, I inform them how Marv and company have waged a war against employees and the poor customer service/store conditions are a direct result of that.

Be honest with the customers. Stop letting them blame us when it’s Marv and Co that are calling the shots.

The foundation and success of any business is based upon the employees. Marv sees employees as nothing other than a controllable expense. Remember, without 85% of Lowe’s corporate associates, the company would still operate.. without store associates, you would be out of business in a day.

pretty naive to believe that a flooding of complaints from your store will result in anything other than write ups, yellings, corporate pushing management to fire people etc. etc.

you arent dealing with executives that want to make things great and care about honest feedback so they can tweek things that dont work well...youre dealing with sociopaths that care little for how their decisions affect others and any sort of confirmation that their decisions are terrible will just result in more terrible decisions.

honestly most store management wants those "10s" so corporate leaves everyone alone. corporate is that biblical death angel....put the blood on the door post so they pass over your house and dont k--l your first born.

I tell any customer who has a problem with the store. To go to that link and fill out the survey because that survey is a direct send to corporate. Enough customers who complain about not getting enough help in departments that are understaffed will fix the issue. I work customer service and tell every single customer that. Even ifs a very small complaint. Also, for the elderly people I give them the customer care number or at least have with 2 or 3 customers. The reason is I asked a customer care specialist over the phone when they called in for someone else if they can call in to do the survey with them. I was told that they could. So, there's that. Then again I have not tested this out to confirm it.

you forget managers at the store level are just at the mercy of corporate as any other position. i know a lot of stores have some really shady managers--department, asm, and store......but a lot of stores have great people who work very hard and are being destroyed by lowes too. for it to be truly effective you need all the way up to SM to walk out. that sends an incredible message to the media and investment community that something very unethical is going on. i guarantee by the end of the week the stock would be cratering on collapse.

There really should be a day without store employees. Everyone walks out for 1 day so managers and corporate can run the stores by themselves. If they can do it without employees they can change the business model and do it themselves.

Encourage them to do the survey. There is a comment box to spell out the problems.

We had an employee who used to provide the store manager, district manager, regional VP, and Marvin’s email addresses to customers who complained.

only problem is theyll be dumb enough to mention your name in a survey and corporate will make sure you get canned for your honesty.

other than that i completely agree with your post. corporate cuts, employees get the brunt of the punishment from the customer. corporate then beats you over the head for the complaints.
