Very interesting that the current to future staffing changes at the Executive and MG6 level remain untouched. So those making the decisions felt that their value to the company is so big that they must all remain in their high salaried jobs, while, those of us who have given years to the company and are close to retirement (years shy of 55), must take a demotion. Not sending a good message, Marketing Leadership.

Are they going to fire all the people who worked on the MOM project in 2017? Because they really should. Not because of the product (although it did s---) but because they are the most clueless bunch of know-nothings in the history of the world.
I am somewhat surprised Marketing is doing this in 2019. Although that probably means they should have done it as part of the first round in 2018 like most other Corp Depts. Anyway, same plan in general, get rid of or demote older folks to save on salary and pension cost. If you are an executive you are generally safe. In most other areas directors weren't consider "in the club" and were on the chopping block as well.
I believe areas such as IT will have a limited second round in 2020. And areas such as Finance will do what Marketing is doing now, go after the RA4's. Finance used their restructure to get rid of older Directors and Managers.
The throne of lies..."no transition plans" in March...but in June there is one that leadership has been working on for months!
All the VP's, AVP's, Directors (-1 due to location) jobs are safe. Cutting one of the higher paid jobs would allow some managers and analysts keep their jobs. I'm sure Managers will take up the RA4 positions and RA4's that are close to retirement will be forced out by being offered RA3 jobs (Age Discrimination). Leadership asks for everyone's skills, which they should already be aware of, but, in the end, it's just a popularity contest. The writing is on the wall and we all know that everyone has been placed in the org chart months ago.
To the person that wrote, "Agencies are doing the all the work", is not aware of all the hard working people in the Marketing Department. In fact, DDB, makes up excuses, questions and under delivers! They should be fired! Wake UP!!!
MT said that we have the right amount of people to do the work now. So why is this happening?
My experience with the analysts and managers in marketing merits this decision. Considering most of our actual marketing work is done by vendors, our marketing department is way too big. It’s full of people who own one piece of work and protect its importance so they look busy and keep their jobs. Nightmares for the rest of the organization to work with.
I’m happy I can still go to Biaggi’s.
Marketing has some of the weakest leadership I’ve seen. Agents built 100B company...... marketing execs..,,, not so much.
Allstate here go read our board. I heard about your regionalization and hubs and coming to ALL also. Workers are miserable company wide major cutbacks and layoffs.
In the "new" (Tippy) State Farm world, by the time you are in your late 40's you either need to be at least an AVP, or low paid........otherwise they are coming for your job (expense management). It doesn't matter how good you've been, how many weekends and holidays you worked while in your 20's, 30's, and 40's, they don't care. You now cost too much and you also are no longer as gullible to go all in on the latest management fad.
In the new State Farm world, I would never put State Farm's priorities above my family. Put in your 40 hours and go home. Keep looking for a better place to work. State Farm is no longer a career, at best it's just a place to stop off until you can find a more stable employer/CEO.
They helped create a 100 billion dollar company. Well deserved.
Nothing new here. They are all in bed together.
