Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Most good employees are gone

We are so shorthanded it's laughable, and yet the replacements we get - on rare occasions we do get them - are completely useless. No wonder most of our good employees are gone and the remainder are getting ready to leave.

The future of General Electric definitely doesn't look bright.

The wise and competent employees are already gone. The employees that remain know they cannot function in an actual real world work environment. Most are so brainwashed by GE culture they know they cannot function in a world without endless conference room meetings and PowerPoints. The very thought of real work with real results scares the “you know what” out of the GE employees that decided to ride the sinking ship. The best are already gone.

Tell me then how to cut headcount (I mean hourly/direct labor) in proportion to the reduction in orders? Don't need to hear executive comp and the like (it is too high!). I'm talking direct labor cost.

GE hires a bunch of new snowflakes and spends most of its time on culture. GE is headed for disaster once all the competent employees are gone.
