Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Call Center Type Department

New to the company. Brand new department. All we do is pay bills from 6am to 630pm. What are the chances of this type of department being outsourced in 2 years ?

Corps are as different as those who run it. After several years I was laid off in Feb and found work in March. Big difference. Although like most they utilize outsourcing but the company does not simply send any and all overseas. They know the typical limitations and avoid the issues by keeping IT and Call Center functions in house.

So no. Not all corps are the same. I'd recommend investing 10 - 20 mins and research the CXXs. See their approach and history. I saw JD's and cleaned my desk out a year prior to being laidoff. Daw it coming and planned accordingly. Could save much pain and disappointment.

I'd say anything that's highly repetitive is not only at risk for outsourcing but for an RPA solution to come along and eliminate the role entirely.

Ask all the employees at the call center in Winston Salem. 90% of them have been outsourced.

High. Wait until they roll out Global Business Services in India. They will be your replacement.

Pretty darn good it will be. Keep your resume up to date and your eyes open for new opportunities and if one come along take it.
