Wonder why State Farm has lost its edge? It all goes back to values. Money, metrics, good ol boy syndrome, and selfishness leads to destructive results. When intermediate management sells something they don't believe in, the system is due to fail. My mother always told me: "You make your bed you lay in it!". Think of all those who left their spouse thinking the grass is greener. They can't retire and get out. Their values have put them in the position they are in. Greed leads to failure. Live your life within your means and keep traditional values. Those values will make you a winner. Don't hang out with losers.

Numbers follow values. Values do not follow numbers.
Here's an article on metrics and its effects for your perusal : https://www.ft.com/content/444b6ea2-0043-11e8-9650-9c0ad2d7c5b5
I, like most people, miss old State Farm. But, those days are over. Glad I left when I did. I'll always be grateful for the 17 years I had there.
