Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Any more yards set to close?

Haven’t heard anything for a while about closures. My yard was hit by layoffs and furloughs but nobody is mentioned that we are in danger of being closed.Still, in a situation like this you can’t afford to take anything for granted. Are any yard closures rumored?

I heard they’re closing Livonia and Avondale cause they’re too busy and the expenses are hurting the operating ratio. They want a yard where customers show up in a truck and throw a bag of cash out the window. Pure revenue and no expenses. Project 0. The idea came from lance.
