Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

No transparency

Here is the thing. I imagine a lot of us feel betrayed. Betrayed by Stern and the LT. When people say "if you don't like it, just move on"....well, perhaps some people were blindsided by the actual filing of Chapter 11. We could very well be laid off soon with no severance or health benefits. That is very scary.

I completely understand what the VC do and likely will do to SAS. But to put years into your work (back when it was great) and then get laid off with NOTHING is sad. I am sure people are actively looking for work, but to know we are going to go out like this, is sad.

The LT is still touting SAS as a great place and things are looking up. But we hear NO plans of any future products, etc. that could turn this place around. Who wants to work for a place like that? Where we hear lie after lie. How is it possibly that the VC won't lay people off and if so, our severances are safe? That goes against everything VC do.

The face that Susan Lynch is putting that she reduced $900 mill in debt on her LinkedIn is very telling. They are so out of touch with reality. Going to their big fancy meals, staying in big fancy hotels....is not leading by example. You do that and in the next breath, lay someone off yet still continue to take each other out to eat on the backs of your employees.

I just wish they would come out with it and be transparent than lie about what is really going to happen.

"Well said" to the thread originator. The company has lost all transparency and honesty with it's employees AND CUSTOMERS! With the loss of transparency and honesty there is no loyalty, again by employees AND CUSTOMERS! There is no business plan for the future except to sell and liquidate.

Putting so many employees career and family in danger, one person goes and update her LinkedIn profile to get her credit... too much and way beyond humanitarian... this shows what Leadershit these people are... Please please look for outside opportunity and get out as fast as possible..

This is true. The little people don't hear much about the goings on so it was a slight shock. Andy knows exactly what is going to happen but tells everyone it is OK. Ummmmm, really?

It is a disgrace that the LT has done to this company and I hope they are reading all these comments.

How can one really stay at a company that does this? It's not safe (has not been for years).

Very nicely said! Being so out of touch with their employees, I imagine it’ll be a reality check when departments jump ship....the alternative is just far too scary of a risk. What would be the incentive of rolling the dice and seeing this through and putting my family’s livelihood on the line? There’s absolutely NONE. No one cares. They haven’t in a long time. It’s all very sad. I never thought I’d feel this way about this place.
