Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Promotions and raises will not save you

In case you believe you are safe from layoffs because you were recently promoted or received a raise, sadly that is not true. My father was recently laid off soon after we celebrated his promotion that came with a nice bump in pay. Needles to say, our joy for him was short lived.

Just wanted to let everybody know to be careful and prepared - because I know it caught him by surprise.

I am so sad to read your story. The month following my layoff from blue can I received my biggest bonus check ever. I never thought about receiving the check, then being fired.

The executioners are looking at the pay bands and if you are close to or beyond the mid-point you are considered a liability and have to go. It does not matter if you are a top performer and how many awards or recognitions you have received over the years as the leadership places no value on knowledge, experience or performance. If the role can be outsourced, eliminated or backfilled with a new hire then consider your future with the company will be limited.

Disgusting- to destroy a long term employees Pension

It makes a difference to the average worker to make it to 62 for pension

Cut some of the executives and their outrageous bonuses

Too many at the top of this food chain

If you are in the pension program (young or old) you are a target. Raises, performance or not. Part of ARC you can breathe a LITTLE easier.
