Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Evolution

In a bizarre way this latest act reminds me of the movie ‘Her’ with Joaquin Phoenix. Initially, the AI virtual assistant needs/wants Joaquin. However, at the end (SPOILER) she realizes she has out grown him and moves on to bigger and better things. Have companies like PepsiCo that have evolved over decades no longer need to remain loyal to their employees that helped build them into the entities they are today? It seems like once a multinational becomes so large, there is no longer an allegiance to the employee or even a country. They transcend borders. The goal is to drive up the stock price and report to Wall St., with little regard to what got them to this point.
