Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

How to quit

If you are thinking about getting off this stinking ship called halliburton please pay attention. First let me ask, when big H is done with you, how do you think they will handle it? Why would you give them anything different? Fair is fair. Then, let's say things don't work out right away or as planned. You'll want to apply for unemployment. And halliburton will appeal because it comes out of their pocket. If you give them notice, your claim will get denied. Period. So ghost them. Don't say a word, just leave and don't answer your phone. Then you have a small chance for unemployment benefits if you end up needing them. At the hearing say your boss was abusive or whatever and you couldn't take it anymore. Then your phone broke or your charger quit, something out of your control why contact was lost. At least then it will be a 50/50 chance

A bunch of rookies and lifers around here. Claim depression to supervisor who will immediately send you to HR - then ride it out for 6 mths while you work under the table elsewhere. Or grow a pair - take vacation while starting your first week at another job to overlap jobs and feel out new job before quitting. Or my favorite - quit and never look back.

You don’t have to be HR to read unemployment law as that’s a state thing not a company ruling. Job abandonment is an unemployment term, maybe get familiar with those before you spout out horrible advice that people may actually believe. And good luck proving your mental distraughtness without providing evidence that you informed the company of that prior to just not showing up to work.

Not the best strategy, but the laws all favor big companies. I guess if you're backed into corner and you have mouths to feed you could justify it to yourself. Good luck brothers. Big H is on the ropes. Might be a good time to get on with something more secure

Where do you come up with this c-ap? That’s called job abandonment and you won’t get unemployment for it cause it’s considered misconduct.
