Clearly there are many people falling into the same predicament. I fell into this same challenge last Feb. The important first step is learning to put Pepsi behind you. Work hard to divorce yourself from the anger and frustration, it will not help you and it’s definitely not fair to your families.
It’s a time to help each other. Get on LinkedIn, find and endorse your colleagues. Message, message, message. Build a social network, don’t walk this road alone!
Share contact information so you can be a reference for job opportunities. Share sample resumes, let people know of opportunities they may be a fit for. The best defence in these situations is a good offence. We are all in this together. Individually, we will be smothered. As PepsiCo peers and a cohesive force, we can help each other through this. So take a little time each day to find and acknowledge your peers on LinkedIn, they will return the favour. If you secure a position, advise others if there are additional spots they could be a fit for.
Remember, word of mouth is the best advertisement. Spread the word on how this situation came about ! I challenge someone to put a date on the calendar 3 years out for the “PepsiCo Fallout Reunion”! I am sure there will be many stories to share on how we forged ahead and became successful despite the situation we were put in.
I challenge each of you to find at least one colleague per day on Linked in and endorse them. Where applicable, message them with contact info and offer to be a reference. Seek your ex-peers out for guidence and help in getting re-established. Above all, if you ever feel this mountain is too high to climb, call someone, talk to someone, find help, there is always a fellow Pepsi colleague willing to be a listening ear! Be brave in difficult situations!
Welcome to a new journey everyone !!!
