Thread regarding Nordstrom layoffs

More layoffs in October?

I’ve heard that they want to let the most recent restructure “blow over” for a bit before doing another restructure in October. Anyone have any insight to this? If so, the holidays working here will be a disaster. So much for “improving customer service”

Scratch that. Looks like GS still running in the Rack stores’ POS.

Maybe by 2025.

At Northgate tonight, looked dead, but could have been worse. One discount rack in men’s with some old Zella t-shirts. Everything else ... meh.

It looks like GlobalStore is finally off the POS.

I expected fewer SKUs and more empty space. Not yet. There were 15 empty slots in the mall and food court, with Payless and Macy’s and JCP to join them soon.

I would not put it past them. The restructuring at the Racks has been ongoing. I would not be surprised if they go contract on their LP department, leaving only an LPM in the busiest stores. It seems to be the direction the company is going. Lowe's did away with most of their LP so it could happen. As for the other departments, I would just keep your head up and ears open. No one is safe in retail with Amazon beginning to move in on the apparel and wardrobe territory.
