Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Union Pacific is turning a class 1 railroad into a joke of a company.

I can't believe that FRA is not doing it's job at all. The trains are not being inspected by carman do to

the fact there are not enough left. The managers are telling foreman to let it go. There are an

increase in derailments to date, and will become far worse in the near future. If any of you want to

make a real difference call FRA in Washington. Rob S. (202) 493-6483. May help or not. I seems that

the FRA is not doing it's job. They have been notified on several issues with no resolutions or blitz

inspections. Roseville Ca is in violation on several levels yet nothing is being done. If they are in bed

with UP, which I suspect, go beyond them and help. This is an issue of safety for the public as well

as employees. The new point of entrance for employees is unsafe but yet FRA has been out and done nothing. What is wrong with this? Too many pay offs. Do the right thing and go above FRA

they are a joke.

News don't care. Management I can tell you don't care, if you have a problem tell your Forman or FG. Had a slid flat 5 inches long, tag pulled, I don't see 5 might be 3. The trains have to keep moving. Forman are worried of loosing there 5$ more. I haven't been laid off yet however I do see what is going on, the week the KC carman got laid off, Lance himself was in Council Bluffs, IA at Heritage Park have an executive lunch in the UP special passenger cars.

Working people and the middle class always take it in the shorts, while the execs and government wink and buy each other another round in their fancy clubhouse...

People really need to wake up. Elections do have consequences. It goes so much deeper than who the president is. The people he appoints to positions that directly affects workers are the real problem. The Fra and nlrb are a couple that comes to mind. Joe Szabo was the first fra administrator to be appointed from the ranks of railroad employment. Ronald Batory is a former railroad industry executive, like all the executives people are on here complaining about. Do the math. Do you really think a Lantz Fritz, Hunter Harrison, or Jim Vena would make the railroad follow regulations if they were in charge of the FRA? Batory was an actual ceo of a railroad. He is not going to slow down this 2020 plan by doing the right thing. It’s putting the fox in the henhouse. People need to get a true hold on what regulation really means. If workers still think companies will do the right thing without someone making them(as in FRA), they need to wake up. The railroad was making plenty of money before announcing this scam. We all know this is not a long term solution. The investors will rape everything the can, and get out of dodge, leaving a mess to be cleaned up. Working people are the only ones that will suffer from this ploy.

Correction: UP was a joke of a company. But the joke went from funny to pathetic to downright embarrassing. People are ashamed to say they work there because it is an inferior company and people know they treat their employees like trash. Non-agreement gets worked like dogs. Agreement folks are protected by certain rights such as federal rest and undisturbed rest, but they are still treated like children. There are worse jobs, but there are also lots of better ones.

FRA has been notified several times one these issues. No solutions. Who is gonna take the

blame when the trains derail and kill people? Not the employees who are being told to let it

go to keep the dwell down. Transportation is ruling the roost with no clue on what needs inspections or repair. Block stops do not work, trains are leaving the Roseville yard without even being inspected and the ones that are are being let go still with defects that are not sufficient to make the trip.

So true. Call your local representatives or the news channels. Do something. Don't just sit back

and let this happen. It is wrong.
