Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Houston is not a Happy Place

I have never seen so many unhappy employees, these stores just are terrible. Why would customers want to shop in a store that employees (mgrs) are standing around talking about all the employees that are going to be let go and have been let go!!

I should stand a few minutes and record these guys, they are not working they are just looking around. Their conversations are DP this, RC that and the OPs AD how awful they are. It’s so funny how much they dislike these guys because they are lazy.

Nothing is going to change, the only concern that DP and RC in Houston have is their paychecks, screw the customers. I just wish the customers would overhear how they really feel about them! Like it was said in an earlier post, someone should record these mgrs and put it on utube and Facebook, them them explain that. I have a feeling that it will happen. DP and RC beware your being watched by many fed up employees and just waiting for that perfect got ya moment

You’ll deserve what happens, you both should have been gone long ago. DP for s-xual harassment and RC for lying about inappropriate conduct in the building ( don’t really care that you were messing around but keep it out of bbb)!

I’ve heard it several times - “Be lucky you have a job in this retail environment...” What they don’t realize is that brick and mortar retail is evolving and BBB isn’t. We’re stuck in our ways and continuing to do things that don’t help us make money.

Think about this fact - if our greedy CEO took a $2 million pay cut and that money was put into 1,000 stores, each store would have an additional $2,000 in payroll to use. What could your store do with an additional $2,000 in payroll? How many extra hours would that contribute for bridal, zoning, freight putaway, etc? The Company is being robbed by ST and no one is willing to do a single thing about it; instead, the stores are left chasing there tails and trying to do a million things and learn new initiatives while working on extremely limited payroll budgets. All the new initiatives that are rolled out are always done so clumsily and they are supposed to make things easier when in fact, they add more to the ever growing to-do list.

A Company has to spend money to make money, and although payroll is the most controllable expense, it’s also the most valuable. We’re no different than Amazon these days. How many complaints is your store getting about lack of assistance on the sales floor? You also know that we’re getting robbed blind by the thieves without anyone visible to the shoplifters. DP and the other RVPs should be making this evident to ST and demanding change, but they’re too comfortable, knowing that nothing at the store level affects them.
