Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

I Quit!

Probably exactly what they’re wanting. I got a new job with better pay and benefits and couldn’t be happier. Get out on your own terms while you can before the entire ship sinks. Just do it!

I gave notice last week. It took a long time to accept. I would have stayed with Xerox until I retired if I could have. The company is so changed. So many jobs have been outsourced. Technicians over the years have been forced over to GIS and they've had to reapply for their same jobs with less pay and no seniority in terms of vacation accruals. The switch to 8 to 12 weeks severance last summer, the $6,000 family deductible for medical in 2019. Honestly I had no choice. Took me almost 5 months to find something. Slightly less pay but the benefits are so much cheaper. I just don't believe what greedy Carl Icahn, Darwin Deason and John Visentin have done to this once fabulous brand. I remember when our slogan was "Customer Obsession." Now the only "C" word they know is the C-Level bonuses they're getting by gutting the company. Maybe if you are in India or Guatemala where all our good jobs went you are okay. Corporate greed is just ruining this country and this company.

Congratulations and well done. I’m a rep in the admin. core and haven’t found the right future spot yet. One of my colleagues, one of if not the best in my 20 years announced his two week departure today and it is going to impact everyone in my realm.. .. sales, admin, serv ... he’s been with us 30+ and is one of the few with the “yes” philosophy of let’s fix it, make the customer happy, lick our wounds, and retain them in the future. One-offs are about to be a MUCH greater challenge in two weeks. Make no mistake, nobody wants to give up that many years and he’s sacrificing a lot in work/life balance and vacation. I feel he made the right choice as did you. Best of luck to you!
