Ricoh: imaginary change

The best way for a failing company with little market awareness to succeed is to...fire half of its marketing organization? Well, that’s what the lunatic occupying the CEO office seems to think because they just reduced >150 long time marketing staff with little or no plan in sight to recover. The absolute hypocrisy of the mantra of accountability when there is no accountability for poor leadership decisions, and the gall of saying the company was founded on loving your neighbor and your work. This company has become unrecognizable from what it once was, it’s now just a pathetic shell and utterly miserable to work for.

Yet they just posted new marketing positions internally. Had nothing to do with performance. They simply wanted to lower employee expenses. Tenured employees cost more. Also note they have a new policy, no longer can hire previous employees to fill vacant positions. They are listed as non-rehireable.
