Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Tractors and grills

Why do you think we put hudreds of riding lawnmowers, grills and various pieces of power equipment out front in the rain and snow? I went to get a customer a riding lawn mower out front and he laughed at me. He said there was no way his mower would be out in the rain why would I give him a brand new one with signs of rust in the engine. I don't brame and we only had 2 and both were out front. He got fed up and left.

I always tell people not to buy anything that’s displayed outside for obvious reasons. Usually we have a couple if each sku inside.

So people can buy them?

Of course people can also pass if they don't like the condition it is in.

  • If the customer calls for a warranty repair will the warranty be invalid? Will the manufacturer say the damage, defect, or breakage was due to improper maintenance or neglect of the equipment? I wouldn’t buy any new product that’s been stored or kept outside in the elements.

We only have 6 tractors on our sales floor due to the grill pad getting bigger and bigger. We have i whole section dedicated just to charcoal and pellet grills. The rest of the "showroom" is in the front of store. Kinda ridiculous since it takes 6 charcoal grills on average to equal 1 tractor sale.
