Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Laid off as of 3/22/2019, more to come

I got laid off along with 13 other home based agents on the 22nd, that I know of. Unfortunately we were completely blindsided, told we would be getting a raise and our raises WOULD have started in April giving us false hope that our jobs were secured, but makes me freaking wonder how long did they plan to do this. It's very sad that when u choose to end employment you have to put in a 2 week notice but here in this state(which is at will) an employer can fire u at anytime, for any reason. But we have kids and a life and most of us, this was full time employment and some of us were working 10+ years for this company (Hertz) dedicated our services then get treated like ANOTHER freaking number. I'm p-ss-d and upset, I had benefits, working towards retirement and now that's gone down the drain when we brought them over millions of $$$ over the years. The bonuses dropped tremendously and they hired agents in the Philippines for less than $10,000 per year to replace us. I will never work for this company nor another major Corporation ever again. You are not a valuable asset like they claim.

I got laid off at Hertz back in 2014. Ended up taking time off from them for a year and heading back. Just hit my five years with them on Monday, then got laid off on Friday. Second time this has happened. I went off on them this time though and told them I will NEVER RETURN. First time shame on them, second time shame on me. Hertz has absolutely NO lOYALTY to anyone and its very political. Besides since my five years being with them I have down them to have had at the least f layoffs. SO basically every year they do the BS, Company wide layoffs. Stay far far away!

Hello you guys you get a severance but it caps at 11 years so if u worked 19 years u only get paid for those 11. its basically a payoff ,not everyone is entitled to the same and there is no notice before they lay u off. They just call u on your cell phone n its effective immediately....
