Hadn't considered this before, but perhaps Mary is trying to position the company for a takeover.
It would actually make sense, given the actions she's taken. More plausible than actually profiting by making autonomous vehicles.
Legacy costs from uaw yum heads and executives , these people have better health care than a salaried employee! They are a significant reason why the company can't make a profit. We are the only country in the industrialized world with no health care provided by the government. Barra robbed GM 22 million , Toyota CEO 4 million , she should have been sh-- canned after the ignition switch issue but instead gets a reward.
Advice to Management
Juvenile behaviour in management is corrosive. Lifers show up to bank days until retirement. Union workers, contract employees and direct hires have entirely different motivations, bosses, and opportunities which incapacitates common goals, teamwork, and true cultural development.
Get rid of the flawed management and toxic culture.

I agree lol , UAW needs to go away along with Marry Barra , they fired so many people they are prime to be bought up by China.
And get UAW workers in the bargain? LOL. Should have jettisoned them in 2008. Maybe when it inevitably goes Ch 11, Tata Motors can pick it up.
