any time a manager comes to talk to you. have a voice recorder on your phone and record everything. can't say much more a bout this at this time, but it works if you do this simple thing.

USA Rights that out finding fathers wrote. We have a right to take pictures and record. No policy trumps Our Federal Rights.
The person who wrote about the recording was in my store. He's straight up - easy to google the settlement.
Lowes had a choice to fight or pay him off to keep it out of the media. He took two years salary to not release the transcripts.
Ask Marvin about it.
lol....by that person saying you "signed that away" they're suggesting that if you record them you might as well assume theyll find a reason to terminate your employment....because....well....no employer will ever stand for his employees recording them.
"And prepare to be terminated for it. You signed that away when you were hired"
You never signed any such document. I was hired as a specialist and all that was signed was a half page letter with basic info
If you are recording to protect your interests and not to trap someone - taping someone is perfectly legit.
When they call you in to fire you which you believe are for made up charges - doesn't the manager always bring another person in to have a backup for what is said?
You are doing the same thing with the recording.
When I was let go, I had my recording going and at the end asked to have a complete copy of my personnel file and the SM refused. Before I left the office, I called corporate and asked for my file and also a written document from Lowes saying that what I was accused of was Lowe's policy.
All the transcribed recordings was sent to corporate (all through a lawyer) and while I did not want my job back, I was given a nice monetary going away present to make this go away.
And prepare to be terminated for it. You signed that away when you were hired
Get consent from all parties, recording someone without permission is illegal and will get you more than a write up from lowes.
You can always record for “your own recollection” and transcribe so it is “written”
Have to be careful, some states both parties have to consent, or you can be charged.
Yes. Hire a good lawyer when you get sued.
Be sure to inform them that they are being recorded, otherwise it won’t hold up in court.
