The sad truth about Home Improvement and where its headed

Home Improvement is a professional arena. It represents the largest investment most people make in a lifetime and also allows for great change and self expression. We can engage a professional, a tradesman and handover the health and well being of our investment. We pay a premium for their experience and know how. At the heart of home improvement is the desire to do something;, fix, change or improve. People want to save money when they improve something that costs so much just to own. So Artie and Bernie figure out how to make things for your home a destination. They were not professional tradesmen, they were market manipulators and did things on a super sized budget.

Big buildings, cartons to the ceiling, 24/7 schedule, big advertising and a management style taken from GE and Walmart.

Everyone pushed the DIY culture and hired experts who were tired, burned out from business, or close to retirement in the big box game. But the fact that this was a knowledge business was totally ignored. As this retail component has matured the customer has sought out the knowledge only to be met with the thriving market manipulator. Come spend your wealth and we will send you on a new journey with your home! Sadly few people at Lowes or Home Depot have the professional knowledge to carry out this mission. Frankly the advise and help has become a joke, a nasty secret that the executives pray will somehow work itself out. Workers have no ability to learn this professional side, they are too busy just being busy. Instead of making experts they make disgruntled, over-tasked, unappreciated zombies. Where is the investment? Why not just watch You tube and buy on Amazon. The younger homeowner has no time to learn about all that is home care

and ownership. They want the perfect answer and will pay for it. Unfortunately no one is there to take their money.when they look for help. They see the inexperience and chaos and lack of knowledge. They go back to their local retailer or tradesman and sadly they are either out of business or too busy unable to offer them knowledge. The whole sector is full of promises, dreams and products but no one to help sort it all out. Funny how big ends up being bad, sad how stupid

is as stupid does!

Lowes is suffering from cart-before-the-horse-syndrome very badly in every area of operations.

But they send the rah rah rah cheer;leader squads and brainless minion managers "motivating" us.

Clowns.. all of em.
