Was there any truth to this? that folks were cut from Raleigh office.

Not asking for details here just want to know if fellow Citrites were impacted.

Your attitude proves the point. You think like Citrix. You are concerned about the 1 in 100 or even 1 in 1000 chance of something bad happening. Walking people out causes huge issues for the people who are left to get the work done. That 1 in 100 person took what they wanted the first chance that they got. A good company wants to maintain productivity. A mistrustful company focuses on the possibility of there being a bad actor. Walk outs almost never happen at California companies. Citrix is based in Florida where you can enforce non compete agreements. They are a sue happy company. But even given their paranoid attitude they still got breached and humiliated in the news. Citrix leaders are losers.

@YcGqLpi-8hby On the contrary, it is very standard practice these days to escort people out when they’re laid off.

A lot of large companies even escort you out on the spot when you give notice (they’ll pay you for the time until your states last date).

Bottom line is that people are unpredictable and while 99% would be totally reasonable and even helpful after being terminated, the one that doesn’t can cause huge issues and huge problems.

Only a mistrustful organization walks people out. One day they are telling you that you are family, and the next day they are walking you out. They are afraid that you will take their secrets once their deception is known. They don't trust you to stay and hand over your assignments to the people left behind. As a result projects stall and assignments aren't completed and chaos ensues. A mistrustful organization would rather let their staff suffer than treat people with respect. It reflects on them. They are not trustworthy.

When has a company ever proved ex-employee spoke to a reporter on background?

My coworker was laid off today. They received a severance package and had to sign a non disclosure agreement agreeing not to talk to the media.

"On background” means that the journalist can use the information you give them, but cannot name or quote you directly.

These are stealth layoffs below the WARN limit. Citrix knows how to play that game. If people are crying as they leave that's because they were not looking out for themselves and thought that if they worked hard they'd get to stay on. Always be interviewing and you be crying.

Witnessed a lady carrying a carton box out of the door. Her eyes were swallon, red and her face was dripping wet with tears.

Surprised why nothing is reported regarding all these layoffs at Citrix in media. Is this hush-hush part of the new strategy?

I was just let go at lunchtime in Fort Lauderdale. There was a line of about 8 people waiting for HR to provide them with a severance package. It was a total bloodbath today. I saw many crying and walking out with boxes of their belongings, shamed out the door by security.

I lost my job. I am so sad. I was told I was a “dime a dozen” and given just two weeks severance.
