The team is now part of HCL. What does that mean for the managers that didn't goto HCL? Am I to train the new HCL manager starting next week then slowly back away?? Why would the Core keep me if I have no team??? Tired of being told to just relax and go with the change.

Kodak pulled this same c-ap with it's health care division. The deal was to transfer all these people over, with a 1 year job protection. Guess what happened after 1 year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I too am left wondering this. We had sever members of entire departments transitioned to HCL but us managers left with Xerox/XBS. It makes us wonder what they are keeping us on for if we aren't going to have a team to manage...
If staff or managers were flipped to HCL, then that means they think that your function can easily be transitioned to someone else in India. They often state that it can go up to a 12 or 18 month transition period, but that is just to keep people clinging on to hope. If they have already been present at your company to review the processes, it is closer to 3 months. If not, then put it at 6 months. They have incentives to cut expenses so they will push it. They don't care if the transition is complete or if levels of support go to pot. Managers often are chopped first as they make the most cash. Sometimes they leave one senior person unbadged on a team while the others get changed to HCL. This person is viewed as important to the function and is sometimes given an incentive not to leave. Of course this angers the others in the group that were flipped to HCL. Some employees will be fine and find other comparable employment. Those that have been at a company for 20+ years without a college degree and that are over 50 are pretty much s-c-r-ewed as they will have a hard time finding anything that will pay them remotely near what they are making. That's why companies outsource these jobs to India - they save a lot of money. It s---s. Thank your incompetent executive management at Xerox and GIS for letting this happen.
What is your roll at XBS if I may ask?
