I am leaving the company in three weeks. I have heard nightmare stories about Windstream not paying employees out for their PTO, or it being incorrect. Has anybody heard any stories about this happening from past employees, or are there are past employees who have witnessed this firsthand? And if so, how do you go about reporting it?

Take however much vacation you should get for your length of service and divide by 12. Then take that number times the number of months you have worked this year minus what you have already taken and that is what you should get. I left not too long ago and got exactly what I was supposed to get. It is also in your exit paperwork explained pretty clearly
4 weeks is 160 hours. Divide that by (being generous) 2 for being 1/2 way thru year, which we are not yet....is 80 hours...how are you owed 96 hours already?
ok...so how many hours have been earned so far? How many have you taken already?
3 weeks plus a week of optional holidays at the 3 year mark.
How much vacation do you get at windstream?
I left 2 weeks ago. Sent in a basic 2 week notice, and worked the 10 days plus a couple. Why? Because I'm nice. Had 96 hours of vacation left. Was told I'd only get paid for 26. Haven't received that money yet. Guess we will see.
Use all of your optional holidays. You will not be paid for those or Amy sick days.
Who cares about being Blacklisted from Windstream...really...who and more important why would anyone care!! Lastly...There is not going to be a Windstream to be rehired at anyway! And may not be any severance pay either....RUN..
I left and used PTO in my last 2 weeks and that got me blacklisted. My manager wasn't around and did not respond to emails or phone calls, so I had no idea I couldn't use PTO. HR informed me on my last day and they did not pay me for the PTO I used in those last 2 weeks either. HR seems to be out to get employees not help them. Odd company to work for.
You completely contradicted yourself. You said you were blacklisted, and then said you are pretty sure you are blacklisted. There is a difference. I just wanted to know if there were issues of people getting their PTO paid back; not a disgruntled employee writing how they are blacklisted from the company. I am leaving the company because of a better job opportunity; nothing more nothing less.
I like what I do with Windstream, but the money is better with my new company. The work and life balance is better, and it is closer to my house. I can work from home more often, and the benefits are amazing. I always thought that I never could advance with Windstream, and with my new company I know I can. I did not write some horrible two week notice to make an impression on the establishment like you. Nor did I write one to become the office spokesperson like you. You are the type of person who is bad for business, and for workplace morale.
TT and his people are bad, but people like you are bad for workplace morale. You are the employees who stir the pot.
And who cares if I am black listed. I have chosen a different career path. So I don't care. The letter never said I'm giving a 2 weeks notice. It said, I resign under duress. And it went all the way up the later. Why, because my manager was a jerk and I wanted to make him famous
Im on here because I have friends there
And I am pretty sure I'm black listed. You have no idea what I said or who I all sent it to.
Until my friends get laid off, I'll be here. I care about them not the company
If they mark you ineligible for re hire, who cares, they are just doing you a favor. At the end of the day, does it really matter? Windstream is a sinking ship and soon be sold off in chapter 7.
You are not blacklisted because of your letter. If you leave without two weeks notice they mark you as ineligible for re hire.
@YYWMkg3-lty You obviously do care if you are still spending time on Windstream layoff boards.
I'm a former employee. They paid me everything they owed me. I have heard of people did have problems. Stay on top of HR. Get the number for payroll. You may have to stay on them but do not give up or just let it go. I blatantly quit and they said I put in a notice. They didn't like my resignation letter because it was all true. Yeap I'm black listed like I care lol
