Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

View from the other side

As in life the strong will survive. Lowe’s sells an inferior product with poor follow up at most of its stores. I’ve been working with family and friends since I left Lowe’s. I have a connection selling high and end millworks products and have met with the owners of some large companies. When they sell a product it is followed up on daily. Salesmen are held responsible for their mistakes, order the wrong product odds are you’ll eat it out of your own pocket. Do it a couple times you won’t be employed there. The salesman is on the site not pushing other jobs. It’s their sale, so they show great service. No job is too small, they use it to advertise to the whole neighborhood. The quality I’ve seen is way better than a big box store at a little over the same price. Some were aware of the Lowe’s PSE in their area, their poor follow up and abandoning their projects is a strong selling point for the competition. Don’t assume if you get let go by Lowe’s you can get another job. The better companies already know your name and reputation. One company wanted to recruit a Lowe’s PSE because the guy could sell and was stealing their business. They made follow up calls after they lost the sale and found the guy never made call backs, the product got to the clients house damaged and was weeks late. The owner said he wouldn’t hire the guy, if the salesman knew the store had issues it’s the salesman’s job to protect those windows until they get installed. His salesman were able to get the sale back after the customer cancelled with Lowe’s. It’s nice to be on the other side. I’m sure each of these companies has its issues as well, but sitting in the big guys office drinking a cup of coffee and not needing to be the yes man is nice. Getting to hear what they say candidly is eye opening.

Huh. Lowes CPO is the follow up agent after a sale. That is how the role is defined. The fact they fail and no one gives a c-ap about product is the fault of corporate.

Oh, and by the way, reposting your own stupid posts and saying how great they are is lame.
