Thread regarding Dow Chemical Co. layoffs

Layoffs since the 2019 split

Now that Dow Chemical has shuffled the deck (merge, split again) in order to avoid a host of legal and profit problems, the layoffs are predicted to start.

The following is posted from Morninstar with permission:

"Seth Goldstein is an analyst with Morningstar.

He isn’t ruling out more cost cutting by the three smaller firms, but he says the “lowest hanging fruit” in terms of layoffs and plant closures has already been done."

Dow employees, how do you like being called the "low hanging fruit"?

It's par for the course, for the treatment of Dow employees and contractors.

I'm sure it's hands-off for those close to retirement, of course. The rest are let go with the excuse of "hard decisions have to be made" "for the good of the company".

Those eligible for retirement are also being laidoff. Employees are beginning to be notified.
