Why I don’t approve of what’s being done with Lowe’s, if you look at discussion boards of other companies 9n the business on this site you will find, more or less, the same topic and ;people complaining about the same problems. So, my take is that this whole situation goes beyond Marvin and our lousy leadership, and is just a sad way that business is done in the US.

Lowes same store sales growth was 5% in 2018. Home Depot was 8%.
So the way Marvin sees it we should change EVERYTHING!!!
Changes needed were subtle, but subtle changes don’t make a ceo a hero. No, he needs to blow it all up.
It’s too late now to save the company. Soon Marvy will, on an investor conference call, will say Lowes has had trouble “attracting and retaining talent in a tight job market. “ We best all just leave now.
While the culture for retail has similarities, and the Government intrusion into markets has huge impact with laws, INDIVIDUALS could still be ethical, and smart enough to think conceptually and enact logical policy.
Marvin makes zero sense. He makes baseless, empty "claims" while knowing what he preaches is impossible in reality, or isnt being implemented at the store level. These corporate guys all turn their heads and PRETEND not to see whats truth, and whats going on.
EVASION is the root of all irrationality, and these guys evade every issue employees arise.
This has led us all down a path of unethical, managerial insubordination that these fools only rationalize solving by threats, intimidation, layoffs, and lies.
There is no accountability, and at every chance , ASM's and above all make excuses, lie, and do whatever necessary to save their own necks.
Lowe's is a dog eat dog environment, where the best liars and unethical slobs win.
Come on people! We all see it. If you kiss a--, you make manager friends and become part of the protected "in" crowd. They dont care if you cant do anything, or do it well. They only care that you wont report them, or go against them. Its Animal Farm. Pigs, and dogs of war.
The rational, the logical, the conceptual, have NO part at Lowe;'s and are frowned upon.
If you speak up, offering a better way to do things, or question a directive politely or professionally, you are targeted, labeled, and even banned from transferring.
Human Resources is a sham. They ARE management, and hide every complaint and lie. They are not an honest empployee resource and dont care about you or your issue. They want you to toe the company line but any means necessary.
Ethics Point too - useless. Any ethics point goes directly to your corporate HR rep. Who then fields the issue right back ... you guessed it .. to the very store and managers who are the complaint.
Look all, the stores are all broken, because the Lowe's system is broken. There is no guiding philosophy. Everything they say is a contradiction. They roll out "Pro Services" expectations, then refuse to see that at store level its impossible and not being carried out. They have no principles, and cannot state anything with conviction!
They make rtules, then a disclaimer saying "but stores may need to do the oposite."
No one has a backbone. The "buck", doesnt stop anywhere at Lowes and no one wants the responsibility. Spineless cowards, all of em.
Corporate just emailed the new Pro rules stating M-F scheduling (which makes sense! No vendors or contractors can be called or open) however, what good is it when stores lie, and say they need pro guys on weekends and corporate just says ok? And then the Pro Specialists are cashiers, and work as CSA coverage in lumber all day? This is whats happening, and its busche league nonsense.
Then they have the gall to accuse PSS and associates of poor performance! Knowing they are tasked away from their primary roles. This is your Lowe's.
They dont care about customers, employees, facts, or reality.
Thats the truth.
bed bath and beyond, target, and jc penney boards are all pretty bad.
I don’t care what other company’s problems are. I only care about what is said and what promises are made to the “Team” (gag) and then what happens in reality.
Definitely not true. Hobby Lobby starts their associates at $15 an hour and every Sunday they are off, because they are closed. God Bless

Before putting in an application at Home Depot I checked their topix forum, this site, Reddit, and glass door. I found none to posts for Depot that I found for lowes
