Marvin, As employees with Lowes you take away the chance to have family time and take our children to church. One weekend a month off and a schedule that is all over the place. Ii has been made clear to me that if we do not hit our numbers we will be written up and fired. We are now being motivated by fear and not by the willingness to do a great job. Seriously , if you're going to be in Corporate , great , happy for you .
But , before you are full time there , you should be required to intern in a store for one full year.
You would work in every department , including Receiving , Delivery and Nightstocking .
This would give people going into Corporate a general idea of how the stores operate.
Won't ever happen , because then , no one would want to be in Corporate , and this is not how
most companies are run .

being a christian ceo is an oxymoron. you simply cannot be ruthless and cut throat and rise to the top while also holding to any of the teachings of Jesus and christianity. Matthew 6:24 - "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Every time marv says he has a duty to shareholders and the stock number he is serving money instead of God. everytime he is involved in white lies and meetings behind closed doors that harm people...he is serving money. you can be a great christian small business owner, take care of your workers, earn a decent living etc. but youll never be able to hold to the teachings of the bible while also being a CEO of a corporation.
He grew up in a ministry family. i imagine pretty quickly he realized that people naturally trust those who are in ministry...people naturally donate to those who are in ministry. a lot of doors open when people think they share the same faith as you. Marv like a lot of successful people in religious ministry learn how to use their charisma and religious lingo to hoodwink people.
