Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

My 2 weeks are in!

Such mixed emotions, but I just can't do this anymore. Between all of this Xerox 'restructuring', slumped sales, attrition like there is no tomorrow and the general panic I had no choice but to look elsewhere. Been here a decade. Sad to see things end up like this. Got a new job with about 20% better pay so I am excited for that but just so sad to see how things have gone here ... good luck everyone!

I wish I could leave. I can't find anything that matches my skill set, salary, vacation, etc. All my contacts say the companies they work for are not in any better shape with respect to job security.

Feeling nervous in Rochester NY.

I handed my resignation and two weeks notice today. I will miss the people, not the company. To everyone still at xerox, I have nothing but my best wishes. There are a lot of better opportunities out there.

I left a month ago. Wasn't worth sticking around for 8-12 weeks pay and a lousy 2 weeks of health insurance in the severance package that was definitely going to hit sometime this year. I was sad to leave my peers and honestly I would have stayed if I felt I could. My direct manager was really nice too. I really loved Xerox for so many years. I really wish everyone well. I just couldn't afford to be out of work. Starting over has been hard but my health insurance now is literally thousands of dollars less per year and does not have a $6,000 deductible. A rising tide lifts all boats but when nothing trickles down from the CEO's office, the good people that can get other jobs will jump. It has always been the people that make Xerox great. There hasn't been a great CEO in over 10 years. Cutting heads is not increasing productivity or revenue.

Leaving Xerox was the best thing I ever did. Better pay, better benefits and no toxic office culture. Congrats!
