Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Any new closings expected?

I'm a bit worried about our numbers, sales have been going down consistently. Will this put us in danger of being closed sometime soon?

This has happened before but we managed to recover. However, that was before Amazon was in charge. Since they took over, I'm not sure of anything anymore...

They are all closing. Amazon is closing WFM down as it is not profitable. This was revealed in the last store leader conference call. I am really going to miss all the free pizza. Duh.

False statement about store sales. Need to make a profit on product sold. It’s all about real estate and how much rent costs. Magically sales increase don’t necessarily translate turning a profit in a small location.

Anything's possible, but unless the entire store is comping negative on negative (i.e. sales have been on a downward trend for multiple years) AND there are other WFM locations close by, I doubt any locations will be closed.

If they haven’t close Morristown in the NE (which is the region about money) I’m sure you guys are safe.
