The scary part is for a lot of us, this business is all we know and where we feel comfortable. And unfortunately, the jobs that will be easiest to find (other companies in the same line of work) those companies all have the same issues we do and how long until they make a huge change? It’s a scary day. All I can say is whatever happens I hope everybody lands on their feet, and that you and your families are okay. Cheers everyone.
Disagree with all DSD vendors going warehouse. There are still many good companies out there that are committed to a DSD format.
I do believe this is the end of DSD workers making over $60k per year as all other companies are in the $45k-$55k range now. Unless you own your own route and manage all that goes along with the business.

There is life after Nestle
Someone earlier asked if they need to clock in for the meeting. We were told to not clock in and that we will be paid our personal rate for the day. I guess thats better than holiday pay. IMO it's obviously bad news if they are paying everyone and not delivering anything across the nation.
Yes, the logical reason is that you can't have this many people on a call and the meetings are probably just going to be a call broadcast to the meeting room. One of our districts is going to MD for the meeting while the next closest one just has to call in.
The meetings were probably determined by where they could get meeting rooms large enough to accommodate a number of employees.
The conference call only has so many lines, My guess is that they needed to have the majority of the employees attend live meetings as that would only take up 1 line.

Good Luck to all of you. As a former Nestle DSD employee. The bottom line is all that is considered with Nestle. Frozen is no longer an arena the stakeholders want Nestle to participate it.
Last I heard coming out of the NE. Ice Cream has been sold and Pizza is going to some type of warehouse operation.
Obviously, this is just hearsay as I didn't hear it from a member of management at Nestle. I have friends and family that are currently employed with DSD. They really took 2 Awesome businesses and f---ed them up.
Hard to imagine now, but life goes on past Nestle.

Florida has conference call for PSR and DA.... I believe office staff and Dsl are at a location in tampa

Has anyone heard of others that are supposed to go to an unusual place for the meeting today? Some people in the Chicagoland area are supposed to go to O'hare airport for the meeting today. And others are forced to work from home when they normally don't.

That in mind ... i just delivered a WM that was suprised to see me today , but my customers come first regardless . The only ‘tidbit’ he got so far is that ic has been sold , and obviously something more is going on ...
I get the feeling our customers know more than us at this moment and thats just sh--ty on Nestles part

What areas and who are going to meetings?
Whatever is happening will not go into effect for another 30-90 days. I work out of a cross dock, my normal shuttle schedule is Sunday night I get Monday and Tuesday’s orders, then Tuesday night I get Wednesday-Friday orders. They changed my shuttle schedule this week. Sunday night I got Monday and Wednesday’s orders and Wednesday night I will get Thursday and Friday’s orders. So I already have my Wednesday orders on the truck. If they were going to lay me off today they wouldn’t have sent me my Wednesday’s orders. They would have just sent Monday’s. Good luck!!

Does anyone know what areas are going to hotels and what areas are at home on conf calls? Has anyone ever seen or heard of something like these where you bring entire company together for meetings to lay them off????
