This is a WIN for everyone. It is an additional safety net especially for employees that will struggle to find comparable work. That saying 'a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush' applies here. If you can get another great job right now in this awesome job market, do so. For those that opt not to do this and will train their replacements in India or Guatemala, be sure that HCL doesn't try to screw you out of the severance.

Comparing coworkers emails I’ve seen it range from $3,000 to $11,000
But they can say anything...it is not guaranteed
There’s NO GUARANTEE of employment for 6 months. It reads “HCL is committed to...”
The bonus is out if you leave or they release you ‘for just cause’
That could be 100’s of things
If you’re not gone sooner, my next OPINION is a great deal of GISX HCL employees will be gone by October 30th (wouldn’t that be the day BEFORE the 6 months?)
Regardless, we’ve already seen documentation that 90%+ of GISX will be HCL by June 2020
Of those jobs many could be done remotely from another country
So it appears there’s a SLIGHT chance we could be employed long term by HCL
But that’s not why I took the job at my GISX core 12 years ago...for a slight chance

Does anybody have any ideas on the amount that these retention bonuses are? I am hearing up to $23K if they stay 12 months.
All rebadged XBS cores were offered a retention bonus. However, Xerox rebadged was not. That's pretty shady!
If you were not offered a bonus, then they don’t care if you leave.
