Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

HCL Bonus ?

I don’t read this as a guaranteed 6 months employment.

I read “HCL is committed to 6 months”

I don’t take it as a guarantee

Regardless. Between this and the PowerPoint slides that were shared on another post I hope that NO ONE is sitting idle and EVERYONE is pursuing employment elsewhere.

Except for those VERY FEW near retirement, part time, or whose spouse has the household covered...everyone should be job hunting

(Is it supposed to be who’s or whose in my sentence ^)

So ONE DAY before the ‘bonus’ is to be paid, they could find ‘cause’ and fire me and not payout this bonus?

Here’s the text of the HCL bonus email

Addendum to Letter of Offer April 24, 2019

No bonus here. But got the same HCL Letter. This is after their huge screw-up with the 90% Right Shoreing email that they retracted the next day with a follow-up. SCREWED! LOOK FOR A NEW JOB!

@1zff

We did not have to sign anything and are free to walk at anytime

if I happen to still be at my job in 6 months I won't feel bad taking the bonus, I freaking earned it!

I guarantee no one knows what the game is. It's being played at the highest level, using rules and strategies you can't possibly imagine.

Who's funding this bonus money--HCL or Xerox?

If you've stopped looking for work, I can imagine how that benefits both HCL and Xerox on THEIR terms.

If you accept the bonus and think it's a worthy thing and it keeps you from taking charge of your life and looking for your next job, you're just a wh--e.

This reads like the texts you get when you post something on craigslist.

GIS here - we were offered a 25% (of our annual salary) retention bonus to be paid out 1/3 at the 6 month mark and the balance at the 1 year mark or at termination - if not for cause or resignation. I'm as angry as everyone else about what has happened to GIS but this is not a bad thing. It is beneficial for those who have decided to ride this out - whatever their reasons and makes it easier to look for another opportunity that is better not just more expedient for others. While I agree that what Xerox has done is despicable and stupid - HCL gains nothing if they cannot make this a smooth transition and this is the first step toward trying to do that. Xerox is the villain here - in my humble opinion and HCL is their instrument. HCL needs to up their game in communication and honesty - but this is a positive step. Stop trying to make it something bad. Let's keep our heads and be able to make educated, intelligent decisions - instead of just jumping on the negativity bandwagon. WE are so much better than that.

Scheme is based on job importance so therefore somewhere between 0 and 6 months

...others, in other support groups given very generous bonus retention offers, far beyond a few month's worth of pay...somehow discounting specialized roles and track record of long hours & unending support that many of us have been part of...

Is this is lieu of severance? How are we guaranteed a severance? Where is that in writing? HCL this just another line of BS for you to convince us to stay. Not happening! We do NOT trust you or Xerox.

I got the 6 month commitment letter, but no bonus. I guess I'm not as important. Even more depressing news, thanks HCL/Xerox.

This sounds more like it's part of their "Flight risk mitigation" plan that was detailed on the PowerPoint slides that were posted. They are doing this to keep people from leaving before the project is completed, not out of the kindness of their hearts.

Not formerly GIS here, received an addendum noting 'This is to inform you that HCL is committed to a minimum period of 6 months’ employment in your current role. HCL will provide a notification of at least 60 days prior to the end of the transition of the position/role, in addition to making the open positions within HCL being made available to you...'

No bonus offered.

Bonus is based on job importance. Some received one month pay others received 3 months pay. I do agree this is not a guarantee. After how we have all been treated....run!

Oops :)

1) I made up the actual dollar amount

2) My particular bonus was the same as a coworkers

3) It would seem odd to me if there were 500 different bonus amounts

So the bonus amount for every person is different. Couldn’t you, posting an specific amount here, help hcl narrow down and identify you?

Thanks for sharing but be careful
