I believe from the moment the HCL deal was in the form of a rumor up until today I see people within xerox acting surprised, as outsourcing was something we came across for the first time. When we look at the big picture, we will see that the company is i a panic urge to cut cost, so outsourcing is the logical from their point of view, because what better way to cut costs, right? From all that the logical conclusion that a lot more of it will come, and it’s better to prepare for that then to be taken by surprise by the obvious.

I agree with the original poster. We did this major outsourcing in 1994 so this is not new - https://www.nytimes.com/1994/03/22/business/company-news-xerox-picks-eds-for-data-duties.html . No company owes their employees anything other than their paychecks. It would be nice if they did more but in the end, it is a business trying to make money. If you were the owner of a company you would choose money over some people you don't even know.
Let’s stop acting like Xerox is treating service and sales teams well. They are not. This is a total money grab by Icahn. The company is worthless. If you buy this hole, you are an id--t.
What happened to the corporate tax cut?
Remember the whole purchase of GIS was a “cost cutting” decision and how many thousands of Xerox direct jobs were eliminated because of it. Our best Reps were given the option to rebadge with GIS or get let go. To think there are groups in this company that think they are or should be immune to this ongoing practice is to have your head in the sand.
Yes agreed - there is going to be investment in stuff we can only dream of before now. We are not a robotic automation company so makes sense to get someone who's knows it to do it properly
