Thread regarding L3 Technologies layoffs

Should I even worry about layoffs?

I'm probably among the lowest paid employees at L3 - does that make me immune to layoffs? From what I've seen, people with highest pay are usually the ones shown the door first.

I'm new here and don't plan to stick around for too long, so it'd be nice to know I don't have to worry about this while here.

Start with Christin Campbell. She is the wrong person for the right position. She's runs it like high school and we all know how she's climbed the ladder: through those above her getting fired (D.Johnson, B.BIllingslea). This is no way of building an organization or fostering a team environment.

It really depends. It you are indirect, your chances of a layoff increase, but if you are extremely low paid, you won't be the first on their radar. There are people who make 6 figures who's jobs are mainly rearranging powerpoint slides all day, and most of the time they make their underlings do it. They are the easiest to get rid of for the most bang for the buck. They will definitely be let go first.

Since you are new and low paid, the only way I see you being fired if if your department is made redundant. More than likely (if you are planning on moving on within a year), you will get to leave on your terms and not theirs.

Then again, the merger can change all of that. No matter what, be prepared...

No need to worry at all, l3t is doing great and plenty of work for years to come. There will be no layoffs. Just continued hiring and great jobs with great pay and benefits for all that are lucky enough to get hired on. It’s a great place to work.
