Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Anyone with half a brain knows how abysmally bad every area of operations are

Anyone with half a brain knows how abysmally bad every area of operations are. Every employee is looking to leave, no one cares, the goals are unreasonable and certifiably inane, corporate ghas no clue whats going on, they are cutting hours in the 100 days, we have NO seasonal hires, and hell, we're just a 45 million store so.. who really cares if we drop to a 35 million?

It s---s on every level, and every management level gets dumber and dumber and more unethical as you climb that ladder.

Marvin and all the brass, including the most brain dead of the lot - the District Managers , aka dogs of war - can all drop dead! They care more about customer surveys, and "image" rather than sales and reality. They sacrifice whats important for their childish, irrational wants of tyhe moment.

Lowes is a sinking ship and the stock will crash eventually.. Marvin and co keeps artificially boosting it with cuts cust and closures .. but eventually their imcompetence will be too much, and they will not be able to trim what they deem fat off the lowes bone any longer.

OP is @YC7TdUl-2stk .

I saw the Lowe's "Pro" commercial and said to myself, what a load of bullchit. It was all lies, misleading, deceptive, and downright illegal what they were selling. Our pro loader is NEVER outside, because Carvin has cut so bad, or our store management wants big bonuses and doesnt hire, that we have no staff so pro loader (and everyone else) is tasked elsewhere all day, every day.

Pro Specialists are NEVER at the desk. They unload trucks outside and work in lumber. On weekends they are CSA's. We page, send calls, and no one is ever there.

Pro Specialists work register every weekend because they never staff cashiers in lumber on weekends. Then staff pro specialists to do it.

If they do get a sale, they bunk and prep it all perfectly, only to NOT have it go on deliveries. For whatever reason

We are not serving pro customers, and false advertising should be fined!

just listened to the podcast.....marvin actually has the nerve to BRAG about how good sales are this spring! he praises how the buying team did...praises the group that got the product to the stores...praises the store employees. then goes into how the WORLD is going to know lowes is back on the map when earnings are reported for the first quarter.

so sales are great but youre cutting at an unprecedented level for this time of year?! makes you even more horrible than we thought!!! marvin, the "world" aka customers do NOT care about your earnings reports. they care about stocked shelves with desirable products at an attractive price. they care about knowledgeable employees that are well rested and ready to help.

as he once again waxed on about "that company in atlanta" (seriously, just say home depot) and the "pro customer" that does "5 times more business"

than the DIYer.....it occurred to me he has no clue that the pro customer still makes up the minority in sales at BOTH places. sure they buy more individually....but theres waaaay fewer of them too!

Its very obvious the harsh cuts in hours right now is because of his ego. he has to prove he can beat home depot. home depot is his ex that got away and hes constantly stalking their "filings" and wants his "filings" to look more attractive so they can see what they lost! the company did fine in the first quarter...he admitted it....but his ego is pushing him to make it look even better...even if it destroys the backs of his hard working employees

Hell, we can’t even get a LTL. We are going on 5 months without one. We finally hired one and he never showed up for work, and now all the day freight is the Night shift Stockers problem, and they are over worked and not appreciated. I too am sticking around to see how this s__t fest plays out.

It’s all about the money; cut, cut, cut to increase profits. I’ve never worked at a store where I heard about increasing shareholder value before.

with the way theyre cutting hours and increasing the demands...it will be literally impossible to replace full timers on up in the store with people from the outside. tenured individuals who already know what needs to be done each day are being lashed out at...how in the world would someone from the outside by able to come into this mess and be the least bit successful!?

corporations like lowes are a good indication that laws in this country are sorely lacking. being able to change someones schedule the night before theyre to work and not even telling them should easily result in the employer having to pay that employee their days wage. ceo's and their boards should face jail time for caring more about the stock number, (that THEY are heavily paid in) and investment institutions than they do store sales that actually keeps that business a float!

business men in america use to want to build empires and a lasting name for themselves....now all they want is short term cash grabs....business men today are nothing more than white collar thieves. only difference between a guy like marvin and the guy that robs the bank is that one guy uses the law to his favor and gets patted on the back for his crimes.
