Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Does anybody still see themselves as having a long term career at PepsiCo?

Are younger people who are joining actually hoping to build their career here or do you all know what you're getting yourselves into and are just here to get some experience?

Also, any seasoned employees still thinking of spending all of their remaining working years here or is everybody looking for a way out?

Frito caters so much to young professionals that it gets ridiculous. I once had an outstanding young lady working for me right out of college. I gave her responsibility for a national program and she did great. However, she wanted to ultimately go back to school full-time to get her masters degree. I was asked to talk to her and give her a raise if that would keep her there - company did not want to say/show that a female college grad came and left for something else. She wasn't leaving for money and said no and left for what she wanted to do. Needless to say, upper management was p-ss-d that she left, making the company look bad.

Already been for several interviews and leaving in a few weeks. The ship is sinking unless u are in India. Even Plano don't be in that myth they are just keeping handful.

A sad state unfortunate not worth the mental stress.

Ik and gang plundered this org dry and sold it to vested interest on the back of our sweat. Sorry leaving while I can. I know I will be happy

If you’re at Frito Lay, your career will advance. If you’re a PEP/PBC employee, start looking. You will never go anywhere unless you’re related to someone.

If you’re not changing jobs/employers every 3-5 years you will lose over the long term assuming you are using the jumps to progress career and not just taking laterals. The pension is not something to stick around 40 years for when you lost out in lost opportunity cost every single year of your career you will come out behind.

You have an advantage by being young. I’m stuck here due to my age (over 45). This place is notorious for ageism .

Guess it varies by season. If pensioned or close to retirement, I'd ride it out to severence.
