Hope you don't work in CareFirst's data center. Won't be there by 2020 (p.s. that's like 6 months). You are a cost savings.

The grass is much greener. 6 resources have left because of the poor attitude starting right from the top
And who ever came up w that banner on the VDI page. That is do counter productive for a IT person. You can’t find your icons. Insane. How about Blue.
Heard in an all hands meeting with Kaercher (DK): "Raise your hand - How many of you contact the help desk for answers?" Hmm...not many of you. Me too. That's because the help desk does not have answers to problems".
In the typical classless fashion of Mr. Kaercher, he never fails to reach a new low. Regardless of the level of effectiveness for a particular department, there is a dignified and proper way to handle discussions like these at the senior executive level contrasted with a boorish and ill-mannered approach. Mr. Kaercher never disappoints on the latter.
Thank you for setting the record straight - until the next layoff... Glad to hear the plan.
Wait - there was NO plan - just happy talk.
That’s not right at all. I guess this person is just spreading rumors. What was said was this:
-
targeting the mainframe shutdown in 2020 (which is needed and highly costly for any organization - CF consumption is wasteful and this will address that)
-
The data center as you know it today will be shut down by 2024 (for those paying attention this meant closing the CF run facility and moving into a co-location facility - btw we already use for DR so expanding that - most organizations do not still run their own data center - people who can transition to and build skills will have jobs)
-
Small targeted sourcing where it makes sense (nearly 100% of development is outsourced, they want to re-insource some development and source some other parts of IT - this is quite normal and most organizations do this)
If you are unhappy and want to spread lies which unnecessarily cause anxiety go ahead, but you are wrong and just part of the problem and not the solution.
Clearly, you attended the All Hands Meeting yesterday. Why don't you mention the REST of what was said around that? For instance, how no one will be losing their jobs.
If you don't like it, LEAVE. Go see if the grass is greener somewhere else.
I thought it was the help desk that was being outsourced?
