Layoff dates? It's been happening since the "Transformation" several years back. They outsourced the Networking piece. That's the beginning of this toxic saga. The Server piece was next. Then All the different application teams were dished out without you even knowing.

Help Desk outsourcing was a big impact last year because everyone who contacts the Help Desk suffers the incredibly poor service. Imagine that they just hang up when they don't know how to resolve your issue or it's the end of their shift. Or users can't understand them.

If this is not the last wave of IT outsourcing, it's very close to the end. April 9, they gave a two month notice to the North America End User Support Team, Telecommunications Team included. There are probably others that I am not aware of.

I got that Pepsi is not interested in the business of IT, but it still hurts. I might have been on PepsiCo side of the outsource if the quality of the service was actually better than the existing IT. However, that's not the case. When something used to take 15 minutes to fix, it now takes months. I kept asking myself why qualified Americans don't get the jobs. Our jobs get outsourced to people we have problem to understand. It's crazy.

I have been with the company for more than 20 years. Every year I see people get laid off and a few months later, the company hire people again. I wish they respected people more and treated them with dignity. It's hard to imagine they cannot put you somewhere else when you are not need here. I am talking about well educated and experienced folks. It's also hard to believe that company don't plan ahead. People are not products that you can change whenever you want. Job lost not only impact that person but also affect his/her family and the family and friends around them.

I am over the initial shock and ready to move on.
