Pricing Coordinators are not technically being laid off, but there are test stores in Florida that have made pricing coordinators accept the position of Customer Readiness Associate. This position comes with a schedule working overnight and more job duties, such as unloading the truck and stocking.
This was recently announced in Regions 15 and 12. We will be changing over on April 20. There will be no severance for this position since it isn’t considered a lay-off.
Right now it seems as if the pricing coordinator’s schedule is just changing, and there are different added duties being reported by different stores. So I’m unsure what exactly is going to happen next month.
But it seems as if the plan is to eventually create an overnight team that unloads trucks, puts up freight, does price changes and signage, and completes cycle counts.
While this is only being called a test, with it already spreading to multiple stores and regions, I fully expect this to move forward within the company.
