With the perfect storm of a security breach and earnings reductions the time is perfect for a layoff. As you may have noticed most of the Citrix managers are congregating to a Citrix mothership location this week for high level resource talks.
The purpose of Project "Covered Wagon" is to "strategize the containment of the fallout due to the security breach" and at the same time identify resources for the layoff list . The next layoff is planned for the "middle of the 2'nd quarter" and is both to reaffirm to the industry we are working on "decisive actions to protect the customer data" and "reduce cost in delivering solutions to the customer".
Both of these initiatives are for different masters. The first to save face with the technical community and the second for wall street. Both of these initiatives are being driven at the ELT levels and will result in significant layoffs and complete reshuffling of working people across the organizations.
There will be increased emphasis in the security aspects of the products and major staff reductions to support the additional 200 resources needed in engineering staff to support project Covered Wagon.
People above 50 years old have been identified as major candidates in the layoff to make way for younger , virile and cheaper resources.
Bless you if you are over 50 years old in the upcoming days at Citrix.
