Unions do allow a lazy slob to get by ,but ,if the unions are completely eliminated and your"boss "doesn't like the way you look,act,or any other reason that has absolutely nothing to do with your abilities or performance.....not good, benifits and pay will also suffer. Union jobs make non-union employers have to compete for employees. So with that being said, hope we can preserve them.

To all that have been furloughed and to all that will be. The only difference between furloughed and fired is our unions. Keep the faith brothers and sisters.
The unions aren’t going to do d—k. That would mean they would collectively have to put some effort in! I can hear it now, “That is too much work!”
I've been told the Rail Unions are talking and we'll be seeing some unified action from them shortly to put an end to all this nonesence UP has been pulling. Here we go Boys and Girls!!
yeah dude let's get away with unions and any protection from the federal gov. If what you say is true....then why to corps shift work away from union shops and to the non-union shops? Don't say quality...not the case I asure you. GE has been shifting work from Erie PA to Fort Worth for a long time now...union to Non-union. Cheaper labor, more cooperative labor, more easily intimidated labor force.
Have NO doubt...Unions DO still have their place in this world. Having a collective voice makes a difference in the workplace and in the politics of this once great country.

Unions are sh-t do nothing for you but take your money they do not run or control Union Pacific. Union workers have no better pay or benefits than non union workers you just pay to have someone to B-tch too is only difference. You can be fired no matter what one way or another.
