Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

401k question

I am not employed by Windstream, and have a question.

Windstream matched 401K contributions with stock. The stock is now essentially valueless.

Did they reimburse you for the past retirement contributions? Or was that just a huge loss for you?

There are some who allocated ALL THEIR 401K MONEY TO WINDSTREAM STOCK. Why would you put all your 401k eggs in one basket?

If you did not pull your 401k stock out of Windstream, it's your own damn vault.

Some employees never subscribed to their 401K - with how bad the stock was for the match the last few years...

You would have done better to invest in Bitcoin, at least it isn't below $1.

Most people historically sold the day it hit the 401k account or shortly after. If anyone held on to theirs then that was their mistake and should be their loss. You choose to take the risk you get the prize I guess
