Sudden drop in sales

The last few months have been really bad - I honestly can't figure out why. I mean, we've seen our sales slowly go down for a long time now, but never as much and as suddenly as in the last several months.

Any other stores noticing anything similar? What could be the reason for it?

We do not get credit for all internet sales anymore. Anything that get's ordered online and does not come through the store. So all thing's that are free delivery to the house we are not getting credit for. This in most store's turns out to be 1-3 million a year, plus PSI which could have been 1-2mill per year. So we are not hitting are comp's, we should be revalued to appropriate are comp's and sales to the new structure. It's hard to compare with other years with totally different structures.

The problem is the managers are hiding in offices and the associates are hiding in the break room.

I’m on my dinner break and there are associates on 15 minute breaks who have been in here longer than me.

The person who commented about the Chickens coming home is the most insightful commenters. I'm sure the downvotes are linked to the comment about Marvin make tough decisions, people view that comment as giving Marvin a pass...

Lowes corp and Lowea stores are two different entities now. That's how disconnected corp is from store level operations. What people are witnessing us the result of crony capitalism. How do you acquire two chains but can't even electronically email from your own chain. People made deals behind close doors and jumped out the plane with golden parachutes. The corp has made a concise decision that they see store employees as enemy combatants and are using every psychological and scientific method they can to attack them without breaking the law. Simple put!

Our store is doing great! With that said it's only because the other 2 stores that are close by really s---. We have 3 stores in a row , we are the store in the middle. The other 2 stores, one is 12 miles north and the other is 9 miles south. We are the newest of the three with the other store #'s only having 3 digits. People hate going to the other stores worst they coming to ours, not that we are any better but we are quite a bit newer and have a major hunting and fishing outfitter right outside our front door and a wally world outside our back door. Our SM thinks we are so much better then the other 2. She doesn't see our sales are up because we s--- slightly less and people are choosing us by default.

No one has a clue.

A lot of it has to do with income taxes this year lotta people that were used to getting money back are now having to pay in. But it's all good at least Amazon didn't have to pay any taxes

The chickens are coming home to roost. What Niblock and his cronies did to this company was criminal.

Marvin has one hell of a mess to clean up, and I think he is making the tough decisions. That being said, the panic has set in and instead of looking at the past decisions and how we got to this place, they are putting the blame squarely on the associates. Management is acting in an immature and irresponsible way in addressing our woes.

Grow a set guys. Accept responsibility and let’s get this sh-- show out of the ditch.

Maybe they could put a Jumbo TV in every store running a loop of the Vegas party? I’m sure that would inspire customers to spend more of their hard earned money with us. Or run a loop of the new Corporate Fitness Club.

They could see how Marvelous is dedicated to “Doing More With Less”. 🤮

Our store sales are steadily dropping in every department here in Cleveland. Apparently Marvin’s message isn’t resonating with the consumers.

But of course, management blames the associates. Our SM has been on a rant and a mood since January.

Maybe if they create more management positions and reports that’ll help? 🙄
