Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

The engine of the company is about to go from a 6 cylinder to a 2 stroke lawn mower.

I can think of one very specific employee type that isn’t afraid of leaving this place and that won’t have trouble quickly finding a comparable or better job elsewhere. Top performing sales people. No chance that the best in that department are not gone or planning to leave. The engine of the company is about to go from a 6 cylinder to a 2 stroke lawn mower. Add that to the churn from existing customers churning because they don’t want the weakest link to be access from a company in bankruptcy and you have a good idea of windstream future.

Well said. This post by @Y1PZitJ-2zpu paints a good picture of what could happen.

The sales people that are left fall into 3 categories: non salesman with good accounts who hope an order comes in, the sales rep who needs benefits, and guy who hasn’t been hired by another company yet.

Non salesmanTypically most of the Reid that have been there more than 5-10 years have taken opportunities from other reps or an order is tossed in their lap because they’re a brown noser. They won’t leave and everyone knows who I’m talking about. They play iPads in their office and Act like

They’re busy but haven’t done anything all day. Free loaders, IMO you could replace them with call center reps or a toll free numbers or an email box called Windstream quote request. They let things blow up while running errands.

2.self explanatory hanging on for benefits near retirement and probably can sell but there’s no

Point of leaving

  1. If they weren’t given something they’re leaving. If they are really good they’d leave anyways because short term pay isn’t worth the long term pain. Most Win reps have no idea how to win deals on value.

Agreed, selling on price just came to an end.

Better be able to provide value. It’s hard to do when everything your core network is leased.

What’s going to happen with carriers who provide us services like LD, SDWan licensing, edge equipment for customers, ucaas fees.

The situation is less than desirable.

I think most are gone or inflight. If you can sell why would you stay?

The account huggers might forced to leave.
