A few questions:

Am I legally required to train my replacement(s) to qualify for the severance package?

Can I be held liable and sued if I engage in what might be considered sabotage and...ahem..."train" my replacements...ahem...'my way'... ;=)

when i was at WD it seemed to me that it was very top heavy with VP's and Directors and Sr. Directors which implies a heavier Opex cost structure and when sales are stalling the environment becomes not nice. I wish all who lost their jobs well.

A technologist is actually a very high level within the company. Don’t speak if you don’t have facts.

"...a Vice President..." as in just one (1) V.P.? Are you telling me that out of all the folks laid off, that less than 1% was in executive management?!?

Apart from the bad news another thing to note: The article mentions "The 114 professional positions includes a Vice President, Directors, Managers, Engineers, Technologists and Technicians"

Please, note the order:

So to the outside world, a Technologist is something between Technician and Engineer as suggested by the order. Maybe as a "Technologist", we should fix our resume and not write "Technologist" unless applying for a Senior Technician job?
