Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

My guess the next cuts would be the following

Nursery’ specialist once it goes pay by scan. RTM, receiving clerk and LTL (receiving down to ds and 2 full time associates. Add a ds for freight. Cabinet specialist down to 1 per store. Plumbing specialist gone but keep pro. Installed sales gone via centralized call center. Maybe keep 1 associate as go between. Pricing coordinator to 1 or 2 part timers. Assembly gone to 3rd party. Internet fulfillment combines with customer service. Delivery cordnator to prodesk. And delivery drivers gone. Just my guess based on the Depot model

Good prediction by @XUknzIo-4ydf, in my opinion.

Nursery Specialist positions should’ve been released Sooner than later. They’re only glorified stockers. The ones I’ve encountered are disgruntled employees!! Heard one blast profanity to a former Assistant Mgr. on sales floor six ago and she’s still there! Go figure. Appears to me the big guns need to replace a few... or alot, of managers and then move forward.

The third party our store hired to clean quit after only two days on the job! Good job Marv! The restrooms are disgusting, as is the rest of the store! Now that's using good business sense.

You're not going to see more stores become fulfillment centers, Marvin doesn't even want stores to have it now, he wants the 1,100,000 sq ft fulfillment center in Tennessee to get completely online sooner than planned.

The Lowe's bot had a customer ask it where laminate flooring was so it brought the customer to a 16oz Estwing Hammer. The customer then proceeded to beat the bot into a bucket of bolts.

Lowes robot was tested in 50 orchard supply stores. My guess is that they have gone to corporate to serve coffee to the “executives.” My guess is late at night, while they are charging their batteries the b--ch to one another about how their jobs were cut and they were demoted.

At my store internet fulfillment could be combined with customer service. They just moved over a couple of cashiers over to “man” the position. Anything heavy, bulky, or that “the girls” don’t want to lift the departments have to pull. Basically all they do is stand there, pet the dogs that come in, ignore the code 3’s, and gossip with their friends at customer service. Big waste of a position there.

As for the FSA, all he does is mop the floors in the break room and restrooms. Then go to the back to chat up the RTM clerk, his girlfriend. He comes in at 4am and is done by 5am so we can use his pay for someone on the sales floor instead.

All I see our LNS do is water plants, she doesn’t even know most of them. We could use her salary for a couple of young guys to staff the quick load mulch pile.

There already was a Lowes Robot with a touch screen body that was suppose to show customers where stuff was. No idea what ever happened with that test.

Internet wont combine with cust service. JC Penny had dedicated teams for their internet orders. I think you may see more stores become fulfillment centers if anything.

The other stuff? Probably. You will also see store managers takes hours from operational departments to put a bandage on sales floor coverage so that nothing will function right.

FSAs will be going down to part time or non existent as well. Already working with a third party vendor.
