Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

No layoffs still complaining

I don’t understand this crowd. No layoffs in 2019, all the best VCIP, best company to work for and still see the foxes complaining about sour grapes. Can someone explain this behavior.

Sorry, previous post I meant 2015 not 2005. Raising the dividend during an oil price collapse should be a Harvard case study in incompetence.

But of course the most inept function in our company is Finance. We replaced the previous two incompetents with someone who is functionally illiterate. Cash flow? Balance sheet? Accounting standards? What are these?!

A fellow employee pointed this site out to me summer of 2005 (in a company email) saying, watch this, things will go crazy soon. It was right after RL raised the dividend while hydrocarbon prices were collapsing. Those of us with common sense and experience knew where this was headed. Our know-it-all leadership were clueless. They still are. But their new offices and annual pay are exemplary.

I’ve seen entitled minority ladies make derogatory racist comments about white guys. Usually, they are obese though. One large supervisor with a particularly large behind tried to form a gang of gal pals to take down the visionaries. They ended up having a great time together though because they had so much in common. That was a good lesson for us all.

I’ve personally witnessed company leaders making ignorant derogatory comments about minorities. These guys talk a good story, but behind the scenes they are rotten.

Our Supreme Leader has used EOI against employees while handing out three year enhanced severance packages for his executive friends. We see this hypocrisy while he spouts “I is for Integrity” and we get angry at his hypocrisy.

I experienced a member of the ELT blatantly lie, and get away with it. Yes, he’s still there. Once you see this, you lose your confidence in leadership.

Frankly, there are some really bad immoral people who have been appointed to leadership positions through accomplishments which are questionable at best. Bottom line, there are some really bad people here that I’m ashamed to be associated with.

They know who they are and that is why they monitor this site in fear they’ll be named.

“No layoffs in 2019...” It’s March!! Wait for prices to fall, a bad earnings report, disappointing production, consultants to come in... we have 10 1/2 months to go, and I have confidence in the incompetence of our management.

Last year at this time there were “no layoffs in 2018” ...until September. Are you an employee? Our “Head Manager” (not a leader by any definition of the word) announced no layoffs in February 2018, then announced more in July, and let more people go in September.

After years of layoffs we either have survivor’s guilt or no longer trust incompetent management. We post here because it’s a safe place to publicly vent.

Do you think that the people that post on here are actually employed by COP? My guess is 40% angry former employees, 30% foreign trolls, 20% actual employees, and 10% snooping Wall Street investors.

It is almost as is money doesn't buy happiness... Let's see... Houston Layoffs twice in 2015, once in 2016. 2017 layoffs were threatened, and then delayed because management needed more time to decide how much of the Boston Consulting Group's advice to ignore and then ultimately postponed because of Hurricane Harvey. Then 2018 rolls around with the highest oil prices seen in 4 years and boom, another round of layoffs. Meanwhile, management thinks it does a good job of developing it's staff, while the staff feels woefully under developed and stuck in the same role without any room for advancement or even movement.
