Few people newly hired stay long enough to accrue. Folks will be fine as dude is in his late 50s and will go out the 🚪.

Many companies that offer a pension are freezing it by 2025. Get with the times. Pension is an anchor. Freeze it by 2029 and eliminate. It will give employees plenty of time to plan. Let it go NOW!

Profits are up, I wouldn’t put it past the Farm to falsify reports to justify this stupid and crazy business model....some agents are selling policies at a discount rate and when these customers get their renewals....they cancel their policies

I’m not in claims and it does sound like there are lots of issues there, but some things in the OP are wrong. SF just announced 2018 financials and our operating profit was, o think, the highest it’s ever been. Our expense ratio is finally competitive, and we are growing autos again. We are up quite a bit so far in 2019 and rate decreases extended into 2019.

I agree many things in our culture have changed including things I don’t like, but there are elements of the plan that are clearly working.

Sarcasm on. So we spent the last 5 years in claims implementing the new operating model so we could move from well above average in customer satisfaction to merely average, along with all of our competitors? Sounds like a complete success to me, now if only we charged our customers more for our average service it would be a win all around. Tipsord is a genius......sarcasm off.

The $100b in surplus is there because of past successes and a strong market. Not because of anything ole Tippy has done. Since he's taken over they've seen massive operating losses, mass exodus in policy holders and declining ratings. If this were a public company he would have been long gone.

The uppers have created a lot of irreversible bad will amongst claims employees. This is not reflected in the JD Power surveys.

And yet the results were much better than all the major competitors except usaa. Nationwide, Allstate, Geico, Progressive, liberty all way below StateFarm. And State Farm didn’t tank. We pay claims better than most. Our rates are competitive- better than most. And there is always turnover.

There is a lot wrong, but the lead on this one just lied.

BTW...if you haven’t noticed, a lot of people have been leaving, at least in claims. Seems to be a revolving door...is that part of the master plan?

@Y0TQehs-2tlw I did leave the company thank you...and the premiums in most states is still high, just because it went down in one state, does not mean it went down nationwide

Tippy has over 100 billion in surplus. He is doing the right things to lower premium and increase surplus. Numbers don't lie. If you hate it here get out.

Didn’t really tank. Stayed just above National Average and above Geico, Progressive, Nationwide and many others.

This is so much fun for agents. “Yes, Mr. Prosepect, we do cost more. But we make up for it with c-appy claims service.”

This....."We were told to be not believe JD Powers. Focus only in our internal measurements. Our kpis are more accurate."

12-15 years ago, we were basically told the JD Power rankings were right up there with the Holy Bible. After the first horrible ranking just a few years ago (after all this Process Confirmation / Metrics stuff started....all under Tippy), word came down that was only "one" measure and we were comfortable with our own internal reviews. BS.

I'll never forget Tippy's line where he passed the blame down to lower level claims. Although there was a huge drop in rankings, "we still have faith in our claims personnel.....".

That guy and his entourage has got to go.

Continued blame from the top on execution and not the business model. The pressure will continue to come down, even harder, fostering a continued toxic environment

The waste that this company has created is incredible. If the goal was to become as big and inefficient as the US government— we are a success!!

This place has become incredibly vile, unethical, and non customer centric. I’m angry and sad at the same time.

Tipper can't make it anymore miserable with his metric nonsense. I remember before all of this crazy numbers game S.F was always in the top five of JD Power. Firing needs to start at the top at this place before they can try to turn around this ship. If the stock market starts stumbling and the return on the investments tank things will change.

When and what are the latest results? I’m absolutely not surprised...until the top realize it’s not all about numbers, but about handling the claim the right way, and that each claim is to be handled on its own merits, nothing is going to change. The way to handle claims that’s being sold to the claims department is opposite of what’s considered remarkable customer service. Lastly, the lack of employee appreciation and true understanding of what is being asked/not asked to do on claims reflects strongly on customer satisfaction. Hoping that someone is strong enough to bring these concerns up to the top, or someone up there wakes up and has an “A-Ha” moment.
