Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

This was horribly handled

After all the uncertainty, stressing, frustration and in-company politics we just had to go through with the latest layoffs (and I'm not completely convinced it's done yet,) I'm starting to feel my life would be easier if I flipped burgers at McDonald's.

Sure, pay would be miserable, but I think my mental health would benefit immensely.

Remember to vote with your wallets. That's all they understand. You are a $, nothing more, nothing less. Speak their language, vote with your wallets.

That's my chief disappointment. The composed values and behaviors are good ones. Problem is, after they leave Mary's mouth the reality from the leadership is different. In fact it is a big disadvantage to embrace them. Bigshots need to get in trouble when they cross these or it will never be fixed. People at GM come to believe that all companies are the same. No.

Our CEO said on the earnings call that she was very proud of how the restructuring was being handled. I gasped when I heard that. It was horribly mismanaged and caused undue stress and emotion. There was ZERO transparency. All of the GM Behaviors were DISREGARDED.

Check out what Tucker Carlson said about the entire situation.

To protect the quarter-by-quarter shareholders and the resulting compensation of the top leaders; not necessarily even the best for the health of the company, especially since the optics are carefully managed and the investors have a very primitive view of the work being done or not done or sloppily done.

Corporations talk about family and team with their employees but their main commitment is to their shareholders..... so the family and team gets thrown under the bus first to protect the business.

Very disappointed in various things I've witnessed in the last couple years as to integrity.
